The Assassin and the Desert

The other day I finished “The Assassin and the Desert” by Sarah J. Maas. It is the second of four novella’s that detail Celaena Sardothien’s life before she ends up in the Salt Mines of Endovier at the beginning of “Throne of Glass” which will be Sarah’s debut novel.

I read and enjoyed the first novella and the second was no different. It was a complete page turner right from the very beginning. The characters and the plot are so well crafted that I was guessing right until the very end. This second instalment details what happens to Celaena after the events of Skull Bay. Being sent into the desert is her punishment, however in true Celaena fashion she finds herself in the midst of another explosive situation. Loyalties and new friendships will be tested as Celaena comes into her own as an individual away from the world that she has known for so long.

It is a well written and well crafted story that everyone should read. It is available wherever e-books are sold and I highly recommend it.
